LAMR Consulting is an operational technology consultancy. We work with the systems that record how industrial plant actually behaves — process historians, asset models, and the data infrastructure built on top of them — for power generation, transmission and distribution, oil and gas, and industrial operators.
What we do
Our work centres on the AVEVA PI System, Aspen InfoPlus.21 and AspenTech Inmation: designing and auditing them, modelling assets properly within them, integrating them with analytics platforms including Databricks, and building the monitoring and reporting that makes the data useful to the people running the plant.
We provide consulting, implementation and ongoing support across historian deployments, cloud and lakehouse integration, and analytical tooling. Our specialists hold AVEVA PI System Installation Specialist and PI System Infrastructure Specialist accreditations.
What makes the work different
Breadth of real integration experience
We have integrated data into historian platforms from an unusually wide range of sources — DNP 3.0, IEC 61850, IEC 60870-5-104, OPC UA, MQTT Sparkplug, HART-IP, BACnet, WITSML, Modbus-era DCS systems and a long list of vendor-specific interfaces including Emerson DeltaV, ABB Procontrol and Advant, Siemens Simatic PCS 7, Yokogawa, Bailey Infi90 and Westinghouse WEStation. The full list is published here, because it is easier to show than to claim.
Both sides of the OT/IT boundary
Historian work and modern data engineering are usually done by different people who do not speak the same language. OT engineers rarely write Spark; data engineers rarely know why a deadband exists or what a digital state does to an average. We work on both sides, which is what makes integration into platforms like Databricks succeed rather than produce an expensive archive.
Senior people, directly
We are a small firm by design. The person who scopes your engagement is the person who does the work. There is no layer between you and the engineer, and no incentive to staff a project larger than it needs to be.
How we think about engagements
The measure of a good engagement is that it ends. We write audits to be actioned by your team, hand over templates, standards and documentation as a matter of course, and train your engineers to extend what we build. A consultancy that makes itself indispensable has usually done something wrong.
We are based in Colorado and work with clients across the United States, on site and remotely.
