Not every plant runs on PI. Refining, petrochemical and heavy process sites frequently run Aspen InfoPlus.21, and a growing number use AspenTech Inmation as a federation layer across mixed estates. LAMR works across all three, which matters most to the organisations that have inherited more than one.

Aspen InfoPlus.21

  • Administration and optimisation. Repository sizing and archiving strategy, record and definition design, performance tuning on systems that have grown past their original design.
  • Data integration. Bringing IP.21 history into enterprise analytics, lakehouse platforms and reporting without flattening the context around it.
  • Coexistence with PI. Many sites run both, usually for historical reasons. We make them work together deliberately rather than through ad-hoc extracts.
  • Migration, in either direction. IP.21 to PI or PI to IP.21, planned with the same continuity and reconciliation discipline we apply to any historian move.

AspenTech Inmation

  • Architecture and deployment. Designing the object model and system topology for federation across sites and across historian vendors.
  • Multi-source consolidation. Presenting PI, IP.21, SCADA, OPC UA and relational sources through one coherent model.
  • Edge-to-enterprise data flow. Moving operational data across the OT/IT boundary with the security posture that boundary demands.

Mixed and inherited estates

Acquisitions, joint ventures and decades of independent site decisions leave most large operators running several historians at once. The usual response — a reporting layer that extracts from each and reconciles in a spreadsheet — is fragile and quietly expensive.

We assess mixed estates as they are, then recommend honestly: consolidate where consolidation pays for itself, federate where it does not, and in both cases establish one asset model so the fleet can be compared regardless of which system holds the tag.

Vendor position

We hold AVEVA PI System Installation Specialist and PI System Infrastructure Specialist accreditations, and we work across Aspen platforms. Our recommendation on any given estate follows the engineering and the economics, not a reseller relationship.
